About IGNOU
Indira Gandhi National Open University was established by an act of parliament in 1985. It is the only national open university to receive NAAC accreditation of A++ grade and ranked number 1 by NIRF in the open university category in the country. IGNOU BLIS Program Details
Indira Gandhi National Open University offers bachelor of library and information science under the school of social science. It is a bachelor degree course of one year. IGNOU is currently offering BLIS programs only in English medium. However, students have the provision to write their term end examination in Hindi. This program comprises 10 courses out of which 6 courses are practical and 4 courses are theory based. Students will be required to achieve a total of 40 credits to obtain a BLIS degree. Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BLIS Admission
Students applying for admission to indira gandhi national open university must ensure to have the following eligibility requirements. Students must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks for General and 45% and for the SC/ST/OBC/PH category respectively. IGNOU BLIS Admission Process 2026
IGNOU BLIS admission process will start soon for the January 2026 academic session. Students can follow the steps given below to fill out their application form.
- Step 1: Visit www.ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Step 2: Complete registration by creating login greeting using your mobile number, email ID, username and password.
- Step 3: After verification of login credentials, fill up the application form.
- Step 4: Enter personal and educational details correctly.
- Step 5: Upload documents, photographs, and signatures after scanning them in given size and format.
- Step 6: Read the instructions and declaration carefully by clicking the ‘Declaration’ box.
- Step 7: Preview all the details and proceed for payment of the fee.

IGNOU Assignment Status Portal
Students can download their assignments from the Assignment Status Portal. It is very important for students to complete and submit their assignments on the given date. As universities do not accept late submission. Assignments must be handwritten only as no typed assignment will be accepted. Students have to use only A-4 white colored, and blue or black ink pens. While submitting, ensure to attach the question paper, and refrain from using unfair means to do the assignment.
